Creative Expression
Caregiver, these therapeutic art tools were created just for you.
The creative process offers a powerful way to ground ourselves and turn inward, especially during times of unpredictability, chaos, or challenge. Therapeutic art practices are inclusive and accessible to people of all abilities — even those with limited access to materials. They can be done anywhere: on a napkin in a waiting room, on scratch paper at the hospital bedside, or with a full set of supplies at home. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist to benefit from these tools or to experience the healing effects of creative expression.
Using art as a therapeutic tool can impact both the brain and body. It helps decrease stress, promote mindfulness, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and foster deeper connection with oneself and others. One major difference between traditional art and therapeutic art is the belief that the act of creating is inherently healing. When we focus on the process of art-making rather than the final product, creativity becomes a mindfulness practice that supports overall health and well-being. Our hope is that these tools inspire more creative healing.
These therapeutic art tools are not meant to be a substitute for mental healthcare. If you find these tools beneficial and want to learn more, please seek a trained art therapist for more information.
